Kentucky Partnership for Families and Children, Inc. has established Peer Support Centers, in six of the DCBS (Department for Community Based Services) regions. Each Center has two staff who are certified in Family and or Youth certified Peer Support Specialists. Services include individual and group peer support, that is individualized and self-identified as a need of the customer.
This project is being supported primarily through a grant, and in partnership with the state of Kentucky through the System of Care (KY SIX) grant funds, and gives priority to children/youth (birth to 18 years of age) at risk for or with SED (severe emotional disorder) and specifically those who have child welfare and/or justice involvement, but is not limited to families and youth who have current involvement in the DCBS or justice system. Can serve as a prevention of child removal strategy and justice involvement for our state.
Justice Involvement includes those involved with the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) and /or the Department for Juvenile Justice (DJJ). Child welfare involvement includes those involved with the Department for Community Based Services (DCBS), Kentucky’s child welfare agency) both in and out-of-home. SED is a mental, behavioral, or emotional disorder that significantly limits a child’s ability to function in school, family, or community activities.
The Peer Support Centers (PSC) also provide SMART Recovery and Nurturing Parenting as well as other skill development or support needs. Most services are currently being provided virtually with limited face to face meetings.
Northeastern PSC

Eastern Mountain PSC
Counties include: Breathitt, Floyd, Johnson, Knott, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Magoffin, Martin, Owsley, Perry, Pike and Wolfe
Two Rivers Region
Counties include: Union, Webster, Henderson, McLean, Daviess, Hancock, Ohio, Butler, Logan, Simpson, Warren, Edmonson, Hart, Barren, Allen, Monroe, Metcalf
Salt River Trail Region
Counties include: Anderson, Breckinridge, Bullitt, Franklin, Grayson, Hardin, Henry, Larue, Marion, Meade, Nelson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer, Trimble, Washington, and Woodford
The Lakes Region
Counties include: Fulton, Hickman, Carlisle, Balllard, McCracken, Graves, Calloway, Marshall, Livingston, Crittenden, Lyon, Caldwell, Trigg, Christian, Hopkins, Muhlenberg, and Todd
Cumberland Region
Counties include: Adair, Bell, Casey, Clay, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Harlan, Jackson, Knox, Laurel, McCreary, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Russell, Taylor, Wayne and Whitely
